A pressure gauge monitors air supply much like the fuel gauge in a car and a computer at the divers side keeps track of depth and time considerations
The entry-level certification is known as the openwater scuba certification. This course is comprised of classroom studies, pool sessions and openwater dives. In the classroom the student will learn the physics and physiology pertaining to diving, equipment function, diving techniques and oceanology. In the pool, skills are developed such as mask clearing, buoyancy control, ascents and descents and safety procedures. In the ocean all the skills that are learned in the pool are perfected and the student will be introduced to the undersea environment.
